Mitsubishi Fuso has launched the Canter Extra Long Bus in Indonesia, targeting passenger transport, tourism and intercity applications with a longer wheelbase and flexible body options.

Mitsubishi Fuso has launched the Canter Extra Long Bus at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show 2026, targeting passenger transport and tourism operators.

PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors, Mitsubishi Fuso’s distributor in Indonesia, introduced the vehicle during GIIAS 2026 in Jakarta.

The event ran from 30 July to 9 August, giving Fuso a platform to show new products and support services for Indonesia’s transport and logistics sectors.

The Canter Extra Long Bus has been developed in response to demand from tourism operators, public transport providers and intercity services.

Based on the Canter platform, the new variant features a 4.2-metre wheelbase.

Mitsubishi Fuso says the longer wheelbase supports flexible body configurations while retaining a compact turning radius and improved ride comfort.

The company says the model is intended to suit a range of passenger transport applications and operating environments.

The bus was displayed alongside several other Fuso vehicles, with five display models shown at GIIAS 2026.

The line-up included the battery-electric eCanter, Canter FE 84G light-duty truck, Fighter X FM65F Tractor Head 4×2 and Fighter X FN61FSL Logistic Package.

While the wider display covered transport and logistics, the Canter Extra Long Bus was the passenger transport highlight.

Mitsubishi Fuso also used the event to promote its “Zero Down Time” approach, which focuses on vehicle uptime and operating efficiency.

The after-sales program includes 24-hour service support at key locations, dedicated service facilities closer to customer operations and expanded spare parts solutions.

Mitsubishi Fuso says those initiatives are designed to reduce maintenance cost pressure while maintaining reliability for operators.

The company says digital services and a wider after-sales network also back its customer support in Indonesia.

MFTBC says it serves customers in about 170 countries and regions, with production sites in Japan and Portugal.

FUSO traces its origins to 1932, when the name was selected through an internal employee contest for a newly built bus.

The company says it will continue developing commercial vehicle products and services under its “Future Together” brand slogan, with a focus on safe and sustainable transport.
